INTRODUCTION
The task given for this project was to create a Shadow box based on either a memory we had or a dream/nightmare we remember.

MATERIALS
- Fake Book
- Deck of Cards
-Hot Glue
-Wooden Sticks
-Mirror
-Plastic Gems
-3-Doodler Pen
-Black Paint

Creative Process
Before I began anything I had already decided that doing a dream or nightmare that I had would be the most interesting for me. I began by drawing thumbnails of every weird dream or nightmare I could possibly remember. Once I selected a thumbnail I refined it again planning out which materials I would use for which areas. I then started working on the Shadow box itself, making small adjustments to the first idea as I saw fit.

The nightmare I ended up picking was one I had about being chased through a fun house, so the final product you see should reflect that.

WORKFLOW

Step 1
I began by painting the outside of the box and layering the inside of the box with playing cards.

Step 2
Once that was completed I began drawing and painting items that needed to be placed into the box. That being various figures and a few severed hands.

Step 3
Once all the major pieces were completed and inserted into the box I began by adding some mirrors and gems.

Step 4
Once all the pieces were properly placed in my shadow box I cleaned up a few loose glue strings and painted over some rough edges.

CONCLUSION
I really enjoyed this project as it was more hands on than a lot of projects I typically work on. A big take away from this was planning, I felt I did plan well in advance but even still I found myself making a lot of changes as I went through the process of it. Overall I'm happy that my shadow box worked out in the end.
